John 10:27-29

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.”

ONCE LOST

If the Gospel offer of salvation were not all of grace, I would be the first to abandon such an invitation, but that has never been the case.

My dear brother or sister, before Jesus Christ rescued you, how lost and godless were you? Like me, the answer is to the uttermost! We were dead in our sins and wayward trespasses, wholly alienated from God until the Holy Spirit awakened us. You and I were no more able to gain salvation for ourselves than we, at this moment, can remain saved by hard work and determination.

Christian, don’t ever give heed to the theology that says, “You’ve got to do everything you can to stay saved.” Such thinking is hostile to the Gospel of grace and the finished work of the Savior.

It is Jesus who does the saving, and Jesus alone who does the keeping.

NOW AND FOREVER SECURE

I rejoice that Jesus is my Shepherd because it implies a unique and special relationship. Sheep are utterly dependent upon the shepherd for security from birth to death. In every way, Jesus has communicated to us that He has a hold on us in this life and the one to come. “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.”

Are you part of Jesus’ flock? Then His hand is underneath you and the Father’s above. Now, follow Him – the Shepherd of your soul.

IN HIS PRESENCE

Do you belong to Jesus Christ? Have you followed Him only to experience wave after wave of trouble? Are you being tossed by fear and doubt over how it will end? Then insert your name and circumstance into this account and its eventual outcome because the same LORD is with you today.

Rest in His power alone and trust Him to take you over to the other side.

 Awaiting His return,

– Pastor Jack
