Philippians 4:5-9
Paul tells us to let our gentleness be known to others and our conduct be that of balance and self-control. Gentleness means knowing when not to apply the letter of the law, but rather the spirit of the law. The Lord’s coming is imminent, so we are to be more just towards others than justice itself. For, winning the lost to Christ is our greatest commission. How can we have the peace of God when our mind becomes a battlefield? Peace comes when we run towards the good, and by speaking God’s truth in the day of trouble, in the day of fear, and in the day of discontent.
