1 Samuel 1:1-11
Categorically, first and second Samuel are what are known as “historical narrative.” And they truly are fascinating accounts of the lives of those who contributed to Israel’s history and development – including the first eleven verses of the opening chapter, which tell of the circumstances of how Samuel came into the world. These opening verses of chapter one serve as the basis for today’s lesson.
