Description
The book of Judges spans a period of over 325 years of Israel’s history chronicling a period of great oppression by their enemies. It also records God’s deliverance through twelve of Israel’s judges, revealing a powerful demonstration of His love and mercy toward His people. The book of Judges can be best summarized by the verse that ends this book: “In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” (Judges 21:25)
As we study the lives of the Judges, though these accounts were over 3,000 years ago, we see obvious parallels with our own country and the time in which we live. We see that, in the absence of godly leadership, people easily turn away from God and lack direction.
