Philippians 2:5-11
We have all been wronged at some point in our lives. And, our response to this injury bears witness to the fact that there is evil in this world. The damaging effect of sin not only hurts us, but all of creation as well. There is no greater sin, however, than the one we have inflicted on the heart of God. For this reason, God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross. His sacrifice conquered evil and broke the destructive power of sin. Only God can give us salvation. It is something we could never do for ourselves. We are lost, and our lives adrift apart from Him. We are not capable of reforming our sin nature. So, God and His mercy came to restore the broken fellowship, through the blood of the cross.
