__________________________________________ 1 JOHN 4:17
__________________________________________ ““Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.”“ Try as you may, you cannot find a more influential person in all of human history who has affected mankind as much as Jesus Christ has and does. There are no religious founders among men who can boast of having brought to the world the compassion and care that Jesus has. None can say as He did, “…whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.” There are no others who can claim that they were “…in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” As Christians we are to be like Jesus Christ. He is the One that is to be seen in us by others. But “How can He be seen?” you might ask. Jesus is seen through the day-to-day lives of His followers. The authentic Christian of today ought to be viewed as being just like Jesus at home, at the office, and at play. Jesus was in every way “not of this world” yet He served, ministered and loved humanity not by being like it, but by being different from it. By His actions He confirmed His words, and by doing so, Jesus convinced those who met Him that He was from another world. We are to have the same effect, my fellow believer. Let us who know the Lord be faithful to preach the love of God to the world, not with words but with actions. Please do not misunderstand me, we are to preach and to witness. But if your Christian life is made up of spiritual weakness, failure, and excuses rather than power, then something is amiss. We who have experienced His love must in turn reveal His love. We cannot be silent followers when all that He did for us was, and is, so public and eternal. All we need to do today is resolve that we will be like Him – to be like Him to our spouses, our children and our neighbors. Let this be your manner of living to such a degree that you too “…may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.” Pastor Jack Have you been blessed by Pastor Jack’s Devotions?
