Isaiah 55:10-11
“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
God’s Word is mighty indeed. As a pastor, I have seen the Word of God go forth like a missile, exploding with joy into the hearts of those who hear it. God employs the scriptures as a tool of love toward His children. The gospel, when received, produces some of the sweetest fruits: brotherly love, godly fellowship, and friendships that withstand the test of time.
God’s Word is limitless. National borders or politics will never be able to restrict it. We should expect great things to happen when God sends His Word out into the world. Let us pray for the nations and lands around the world that have yet to experience the love and liberation of Jesus Christ.
What about God’s Word at home? I urge you to get into your Bible and pray it! Jesus promised, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you” (John 15:7).
Husbands and wives select a verse each day to pray. First Timothy 2:8 tells us to lift our hands in prayer. Mom and Dad, before you retire at night, stand in the doorway of your kids’ rooms, stretch out your hands, and pray scripture over them. And if any are wayward and things are hard, pray all the harder. Never stop praying God’s Word over them!
Believer, when you pray scripture, you can be confident that the fruit of your labor will ripen in due time. God promises it.
Awaiting His Return,
