Hebrews 12:14
“Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.”
We have all been invited to some type of celebration or event that required specific attire. Such affairs have a standard, a dress code if you will, that announces that you are invited and that you have prepared yourself for the event.
Fashions come and go here on earth, but heaven has a required attire that, when donned, will announce that you have been invited and have prepared yourself for the grand gala. In the book of Revelation, the scripture vividly describes the acceptable threads that the church will wear throughout eternity. “And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.” (Revelation 19:8)
The “righteous acts of the saints” is another way of saying they will be clothed with Christ’s holiness—the holiness He imparts to all who trust Him for salvation. This holiness is what prepares us for that great day that is coming. And because He has given us His holiness, we can now be holy in our manner of living and thus be acceptable.
Holiness is a way of life for those who are dressed for heaven. It means that they are set apart for God. So, let me ask: Are you living a holy life dedicated to God? Is it evident by what you say, what you watch, and how you think? Do your desires and passions of your life match that of heavenly attire? If not, then it’s time to get dressed.
Awaiting His return,
