“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'”
In the parable of stewardship and faithfulness, the master held each man accountable for what was entrusted to him. This parable was designed to give us a better understanding of what it is that the Lord Himself requires of us in this life. The master imparted to each servant a unit of investment for the kingdom. Because of one servant’s integrity and wisdom during his lord’s absence, the servant was rewarded with a special place of trust and confidence at the master’s return.
So will it be at the coming of Jesus Christ for all those who have been faithful to Him during this time of testing. All of us are who we are by the grace of God. We are His servants and what He has allotted for us to do will differ. Yet in the end, our faithfulness to what we are doing for Him will matter the most. Dear Jesus, make us and keep us usable for Your kingdom and may we be found faithful to the end. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
