1 John 5:11-13
“And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.”
Who would have thought that Jesus would be under attack in America! Never before in the history of our country has Jesus Christ been the subject of such division and hatred. Yet, the multitudes of cults that visit our doorsteps never hesitate to drop Jesus’ name in hope of deceiving someone into thinking that they are credible. The cults deny salvation in Jesus, Judaism denies that He is the Messiah; and Islam denies that He is the Son of God. Yet no man can come to the Father or enter heaven without trusting in Him.
Dear friend, today I’m asking you to simply read God’s Word and listen to what He has to say. How simple and how direct is the scripture that tells us “And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.”
America is being overrun with so many messages that contradict what the Bible has to say. For the most part, people love it that way. But I would ask you this: what do you know of God? Is it true for you that you have this testimony – that God has given you eternal life and this life is in His Son? Can you say that? Do you know that? Do you agree with the Lord who says, “He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life?”
Today, are you sure that you possess eternal life? If not, then ask Him to forgive you of your sins and make Him your personal Lord and Savior. From this moment on, you can be confident in His power to save.
