As David heard Goliath’s advances and threats against the true and living God and Israel, he was awakened by his passionate and confidence of faith in His God to stand and fight. He knew the Lord who had rescued him from the lion and the bear would surely give him victory as he proclaimed, “Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD’s, and He will give you into our hands.”
We may think that if God had His hand upon us as He did upon David, that there would be a supernatural exception from the difficulties of life. We tend to lean upon the idea that if I’m favored all will be well. No harm will come my way…yet, because we are favored by God, God has specifically tailored for us victories in His name that come through battles!
We often see our problems bigger than they really are. However, winning the battle requires us to awaken to the fact that it’s about something bigger than us. Satan, our enemy, seeks to advance on what has already been conquered for God and we need to defend, by faith, that which God has given. An inactive faith will blind our perception, but an active faith always prevails and will result in victory.
Christian, we have a cause for winning the battles of life; eternity is rapidly approaching.
