Ephesians 3:6
“…that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel.”
It might be a little disturbing to those who take salvation for granted to know that eternal joy with Christ in heaven was not promised to us first. God first offered the gift of salvation to His chosen people, Israel. It was their rejection of Jesus as Messiah that opened the door for us. In Christ, Gentile and Jewish believers are now fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the same promise through the gospel. No one had to grapple with this more than the apostle Paul.
Prior to his conversion, Paul regarded Gentiles as any Jew would as two-legged dogs created to appease the hunger of hell’s fury. Everything changed once Jesus revealed to him that He loved all mankind.
For nearly two thousand years since Israel rejected Christ Jesus, the invitation has been formally extended to Gentile nations. But God’s invitation of salvation is about to be presented to Israel again, and current global events show how close this could be.
Whether Jew or Gentile, we all enter heaven on equal terms. There isn’t one way for the Jew and another for the Gentile. Jesus is the only door that leads to the throne room of God. What will you inherit when death comes to you? Are you assured of eternal life in heaven with Him, or will it be everlasting death in hell without Him? The choice is yours today. Choose Christ and live!
