Psalm 116:15

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.”.

How can death be a consolation of a welcomed experience? Death is man’s most feared and dreaded enemy. I once knew a person who feared death so much that he would not drive down a street where there was a cemetery for fear that death would visit him sooner.

The world has good reason to be tortured by the thought of death. Non-Christians are petrified of death because they must yield to its relentless advances. Yet, how then can death be precious to the Christian? Because it has been muzzled and turned around for good. The Lord uses it now in our lives to be the liberator of earthly weaknesses. If we are not raptured, then we will be liberated from all of our weaknesses via death. What a delight it is to know that at the moment we close our eyes and die here in this burdened world, we will instantly open our eyes in God’s glorious heaven! Consider for a moment that we will be united with all those who have put their trust in God. We will see King David, Noah, Rahab, and Jesus Christ Himself! As for me, I shall also see my mother. Just weeks before my mom died, she knelt on her knees beside my daughters and me and asked Jesus to forgive her of her sins and to receive her into His family. Four weeks later, I had the honor of celebrating my mother’s promotion into glory!

Yes Lord, I do see how precious in Your sight is the death of one of Your saints because it is the way in which he or she comes home to You forever and ever.
