Galatians 5:22-23

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”

The fruit of the Spirit is love. This statement challenges me as I am sure it does you. Like you, I have to regularly evaluate the quantity and quality of my spiritual fruit production, beginning with love.

There are those who speak of having a deeper knowledge of God or a special understanding of Him. Yet, many may show little of the fruit that is the evidence of being born again. Saying that you know God is great, but when His divine love is expressed through you, it is “proof positive” you are saved, and heaven bound.

 FRUIT FROM THE ROOT

Maybe you have tried to love as God loves and failed, and now you’re discouraged. Let me ask you, “Are you abiding in Him? Is your life rooted in the love of God through the Word of God?”

Jesus said, “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.” (John 15:4) And “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.” (John 15:9)

To the degree that you are spending time in God’s presence

will be the extent to which you are able to express His love.

How much Bible you can quote means nothing to the hungry or hurting. But live a life filled and transformed by the Spirit of God, and you cannot be anything less than an instrument of His love.

 Awaiting His return,
