Zechariah 9:9“…Behold, your King is coming to you…” Palm Sunday, nearly two thousand years ago, began like any other day. Jerusalem was waking up to a beautiful spring morning. The flowers were in bloom. The hills were green from the recent rains. The hearts of the people were filled with excitement. Passover was near! Jesus Himself had awaited the day. The prophets of old foretold of a day when the Messiah would visit Israel. As the day waxed on and the cool spring morning yielded to the warmth of the sun, Jesus was now ready to present Himself to the nation. As He mounted a young donkey upon which a man had never sat, Jesus rode toward the eastern gate of the Temple Mount. The crowds surrounding Him began to shout, “Hosanna! Hosanna! Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord!” Jesus was entering into the city and every man knew of His presence. But look closer if you will. The entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem is a reality shot for all of His people. He desires that we would open up our lives and hearts to His entrance into our lives. Jesus desires our fellowship each day. I invite you to open the gates of your heart and let the King of Peace enter in. Jesus is coming, my friend. Where are you in the crowd? What will be your decision today? Will you, with token respect, gently turn Him away or will you with a glad and needy heart say, “Jesus come in!” Pastor Jack
