Matthew 28:6

“He is not here; for He is risen, as He said…

The resurrection of Jesus Christ stands alone as the single most important event in human history. April 13, 32 A.D. dawned like no other and turned the world on its ear—Jesus’ tomb sat empty. But that morning, Jesus’ loyal disciples sat in a cloud of doubt brought on by the difficulty of what they perceived to be true. The disciples feared they had lost their beloved friend and Master to the power of the grave.

It wasn’t until morning advanced that word began to spread throughout the city and countryside. Jesus was alive! Some believed it was His ghost lingering. Others thought the grief-stricken imagined the sightings. But soon, the truth became undeniable—the Savior of the world had risen from the dead! Doubt gave way, and joy rushed in.

Skeptics have unsuccessfully attempted to disprove the resurrection, but it remains a historical fact despite their efforts. Yet, no one is immune to doubt. It has a habit of barging past the gate to our front door and pounding loudly. When that happens, be ready to answer it with faith and truth.

The writer of Hebrews says, “But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God” (Hebrews 10:12). He sat down because the work of securing your salvation was finished! And because Jesus “died and lives forevermore” (Revelation 1:8), you shall never know the dark grip of the grave.

Believer, Jesus Christ’s resurrection ensures your glorious future, making today, and every day, a time to rejoice.

Awaiting His Return,
