Luke 11:9

“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”

“Seek and you will find.” In this 21st century of hurry up and rush, we are so often distracted by the things that rob us from the seeking that Jesus desires. So much of that which is important is frantically lost to the urgency of the moment. Note here in this verse that there is a hint, perhaps even a great shout in our direction, announcing God has so much more for us, an infinite amount of more. Of this, I have no doubt, but why do we resign ourselves to so little? Why do we take such small strides in our walk with Him, while subsisting on a meager diet of crumbs? Is it not because we fail to seek Him as we ought? Shouldn’t we take His invitation seriously, when it’s He who has promised such a storehouse of good things to those who ask? And why not knock, when it is the Lord who is holding in His wealthy hand all that my soul needs to be satisfied? Believer, He stands behind His door ready to open to you, and indeed, to all who will knock.

What will we find when we ask and knock? We will find an unlimited amount of that which is needed for our journey; all things are now made available to His children just for the seeking. In every season or station in life, we must banish the things that lure us into a mediocre, lackluster, and complacent life and redirect our efforts to the reckless hot pursuit of Christ by asking, and seeking, and knocking.
