Jeremiah 31:3

“The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: ‘Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.’”

Like Jeremiah, we also can say, “The Lord has appeared of old.” If you look back over the years of your life, you will see that God was with you all the time. Perhaps you walked in ignorance of His love, not understanding the ways He protected you from even worse troubles than you experienced. But, He was there.

Your heart may question, “Lord, where were You?” “Lord, do you really love me?” And He answers you today by saying, “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.”

In one of the most moving verses in the Bible, Jeremiah’s declaration reveals to us the very heart of God. To say that God’s love is everlasting is to say that He who dwells outside of time and space has loved and will continue to love you throughout all eternity. His love is the purest and highest form of devotion.

The hour has come for you to look over the wall of the past and gaze upon God’s eternal plan for you. He has been preparing you for this very moment. What others previously planned against you for harm, God has turned around to use for good. He loved you as much then as He does now. Meditate on this truth. Let your past be lost along with the old world you once lived in. Look to your future blessed, knowing that you rest in the everlasting love of God.

Awaiting His Return,
