1 Peter 2:11-12

“Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.”

Have you heard the saying, “actions speak louder than words”? The axiom implies the importance of our actions aligning with the words we say. You cannot say you love the Lord but live completely against the very nature of God. The truth of God carries within it the power to illuminate the darkness.

Your lifestyle is one of the greatest testimonies to those around you. You never know who is watching and examining your life. Whether you are at home, at work or around town, people are observing your conduct. A true follower of Jesus Christ is a man or woman who is possessed by the personal presence of the Holy Spirit of God. It is the Holy Spirit at work within the believer which gives him the ability to live a godly life and do the good works of God.

Through Christ and Him alone are we able to be an example to unbelievers. Let the light and truth of Christ shine through you this week.
