_____________________________________________ LUKE 21:28
_____________________________________________ “Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.“ It seems to me that it just might be getting easier to become a believer now more than ever. With the world seemingly edging toward another World War and the Middle East as volatile as ever, what should be the Christian’s response? We are living in days that can be terrifying for those who do not know Jesus Christ. Our unsaved friends and family are doing their best to act like everything is fine, but inside they know that something is coming. While Jesus was on earth, He told His followers to look up and always be ready for the events that they would encounter, but what about today? You and I live two thousand years after His warning, so how much closer are we to the Last Days’ events? Jesus told us that in the days leading up to both the rapture of the church and His second coming, that it would be a time marked by an increase in cults and false religions and that many would be led astray. Today, can you think of religions that fit that description? Man-made, satanically empowered religions are on the increase and they will become even more influential and powerful as the days continue. These cult religions try to change cultures, overturn laws and prohibit customs among the nations that they infiltrate. When this begins to happen, Christianity will become an ever-decreasing influence. Your faith and mine will become a mockery and the Bible will be outlawed. I know this sounds extreme, but ask yourself, how much has the world already changed since 2001? Cheer up, Christian! On the surface, the future here on earth looks very bleak, but this world is not our home. We are heaven-bound and until we are home, we are to stand against evil. There are those who seek to destroy any appearance or memory of our Judeo-Christian American heritage. There are those whose faith demands our death as they follow the writings of their book in strict obedience. So, what are we to do? Jesus tells us that as we live our lives, we are to look up and lift up our heads for our redemption draws nearer each and every day. This also means that those around us will want answers and hope for their lives. As Christians, we have the only answer that can calm their souls, take away their sins and secure a place in heaven for them. What the Bible said would happen is happening. You can never go wrong by trusting in the Lord and in His Word. Let’s be faithful to not only tell others the Good News of Jesus Christ, but to live it out in our daily lives. “Come quickly, Lord Jesus.” -Pastor Jack Have you been blessed by Pastor Jack’s Devotions?
