Genesis 15:1

“After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.'”

Whenever God is about to begin a work or is in the midst of a work, we are brought to a point in our lives in which our hearts are challenged. We so often find it easier to believe the word of men rather than the promises of God.

However, I urge you to rest entirely upon Him. The Lord desires that we trust Him completely. He is not like us. He will never play with our feelings or emotions. God is the perfect parent, but because of that, He will often bring us into places of testing to reveal to us the areas of needful development.

Are you comfortably relying in that place of rest or are you still trying to find rest for your weary soul? Know this day that He is your shield and your exceedingly great reward. He will protect you and will provide for you as you learn to wholly trust in Him. Then He will, as He promised, shower great blessings down upon you. So, enjoy His rest today!
